What is an Ai Agent

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.
Very few can explain what they really are — or why they matter.

Let's fix that. Here's the breakdown. ⬇️

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁?
AI agents are software systems that use AI to pursue goals and complete tasks on behalf of users.
They reason, plan, and act — with memory and autonomy.
And they operate in a continuous loop:
1️⃣ Think – Process data and context
2️⃣ Plan – Decide how to achieve the goal
3️⃣ Act – Execute via tools, APIs, or interfaces
4️⃣ Reflect – Evaluate results and adapt

This feedback loop makes agents adaptive, iterative, and capable of learning.
---

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 (left panel):
➜ You delegate a task
➜ The agent takes autonomous action
➜ It connects to tools, APIs, or the web — uses memory, adapts to input
➜ You're still in control — but it runs on its own

Think of it as a smart intern that never sleeps — and keeps improving.
---

𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (middle panel):
Different agents, different strengths — just like any team:
➜ Simple Reflex Agents = rule-based triggers
➜ Model-Based = uses memory to guide decisions
➜ Goal-Based = acts with outcomes in mind
➜ Utility-Based = weighs options and tradeoffs
➜ Learning Agents = continuously improve

You wouldn't run a business with just one intern — same goes for agents.
---

𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 (right panel):
How you structure your agents matters just as much as what they can do:
➜ Single Agent = task-specific assistant
➜ Multi-Agent = agents coordinate and collaborate
➜ Human-Machine = agents work with humans in the loop
---

And this is where most enterprises still struggle — not with the technology, but with governance, security, and trust.
AI agents aren't the future.
They're already here.
Most organizations just haven't figured out how to use them at scale — yet.

Siam of ICIL-tek-Artificial Intelligence Team  gave a brief about Robotic Process Automation , intelligent Automation  & Agentic Automation and difference between them . Siam showcased some use cases undertaken by ICIL Technologies Ltd.

  1.  Bank Al Habib Ltd's Representatives Clarification / Requirement

  • Mr. Moazzam confirmed that TBML solution acquisition is pending and that SBP has issued new quidelines widening the scope of the service, however Tradesun solution is not viable as it is Cloud based and BAHL Information security team has raised objection.

  • Bank Al Habib Representatives  suggested following uses and asked how RPA would automate them

  1. Start of Day Process: The process was described on a very high level.

( ICILtek confirmed that this is a an ideal case as this process is very manual, high volume, repetitive and requires no intelligence)

  1. Account reconciliation: BAH representative describe the process of Account reconciliaition and how given some data the reconciliation is done.

( ICILtek confirmed that again this is possible as system integration is integral feature of the RPA process.)

  1. Swift Message Screening: BAH representative inquires of RPA will be able to extract information from Swift messages and run a screening process.

( ICILtek confirmed that information extraction whether in structured format or unstructured format is a key features of the Robotic Process Automation Solution.)

  1. AML Screening

  • Watchlist pertaining to new accounts: Mr. Syed Ali Zia Rizvi described the whole process of AML screening and how labour intensive the process is requiring judgement.

  • Screening based on list  updation

( Yasser Mufti confirmed that RPA can be trained to keep a eye on the list and run screening based on any particular list updation.)

  • Screening and Settlement of Transaction Monitoring Alerts: Mr. Syed Ali Zia informed that he has a team of 160 for settlement of alerts.

( Yasser Mufti confirmed that BOT can be trained to undertake this function  and if not entirely  reduce number of deployed HR from 160 staff to 0 , it can at least bring it to a number which make deployment of BOT economical)

  1. BAHL Team inquired about the efficiency of the RPA BOT in terms of Load balancing.

  1. ICIL Technologies Ltd's Representative Reply / Solution

  • Saim confirmed that based on Complexity ,  RPA BOT specially "Agentic Automation" creates a team of BOT

  • Saim showcased the "Intelligent Document Extraction Solution" which uses latest AI technology to extract data from unstructured documents.
